"Is it tacky to ask for money instead of
gifts on my invitations?
It's becoming more and more common that couples are asking for cash instead of wedding gifts. It's actually easier for your guests so they don't have to look through pages and pages on a registry. It's also easier for the couple because most are combining households or already live together. They can purchase items that they need or put the money toward their honeymoon.
It's inappropriate to ask for money on invitations however there is a way to do it without offending your guests. Most couples have a "Wishing Well Wedding". A Wishing Well Wedding is a way to ask for cash in lieu of gifts. Guests are expected to bring cash or gift cards to place in the well.
When sending out your invitations you will want to include a note card with a cute poem. Depending on your wedding style the poem can have some humor to it or not.

So what do you get for the Bride & Groom
Whose house is setup in every room?
Their house needs repairs and some upgrades too

ReplyDeleteI think this is a very good suggestion since it is also too bad to know that your gift will just be kept since there are a lot of the guests who gave the same gift. Though the thought is there but it can be of a great help for couples to be to use the money for something they plan.
